A scan matches the barcode, then the SKU, then the id. The catalog is on the device, so search answers whether or not the wifi does.

At the counter
The lane, on an iPad, an iPhone or an Android device.
Clienteling at the counter
Who is in front of you: their account, what they have bought, what they owe, their price level. With Spark, a brief before they finish saying hello.
Options the item asks
Size, cut, engraving, gift wrap. Required questions hold the add, each answer becomes its own line, and tracked items ask for lot, serial or bin on the line itself.
Returns and exchanges
Rung against the original sale: what was charged, back on the card that paid. Take goods back and sell others in the same basket.
Quotes, orders and held sales
Price it without selling it. A quote can be revised or sold; a sales order posts as a sales order; a basket can be held under a name and picked up later.
Every tender, split how you like
Cash, card, check, gift card, account. More than one on a sale, and the balance inverts as it comes down. Tips on the screen the customer is shown.
Cards, however you take them
Square and Stripe readers and terminals, with Tap to Pay on a phone that reads the card itself. Card details never reach our servers.
Money owed, paid at the counter
The customer's open invoices, oldest first. Tick what is being paid, take part of it, and it posts as a payment applied to those documents.
Discounts with real approval
Percent or amount, a reason, and the approver's name on it. The server recomputes the money and re-checks the authority.
The drawer, counted and closed
Opened, kicked on the tenders you chose, money in and out logged, counted blind at close with every variance explained.
Find a sale
Search what this terminal sold from the device, and ask the console only when it cannot answer. What comes back is the receipt as it printed.
Keeps selling offline
The sale lands in the device's outbox before anything else and drains when it can. A refused row is the console's problem, not the counter's.
The rules you set
Configured once in the console, obeyed by every terminal.
Promotions
Money off now: which items, how much, when, and at which stores. They fire themselves, and nothing stacks by accident.
Offers the clerk can choose
Not every deal has a coupon to scan. A manager's twenty percent is on a list the clerk picks from, with the code path still there for printed vouchers.
Rewards
Points or cash back, earned on what a basket actually paid and spent on a later visit. Balances are held per customer and print on the receipt.
Surcharges
Card surcharges, fees and levies added to the bill, on the rules you set, posting as the item you nominate.
Gift cards
Sold, issued as the refund on an exchange, and redeemed as a tender. Your own cards or numbers the terminal makes up, check digit and all.
Favorites
The items a counter reaches for, in the order you put them, per store.
In the console
The web app behind the lane, where the estate is actually run.
Posts back as the right document
A sale is an invoice plus a payment. A return is a credit memo plus a refund. Anything with no writer is rejected loudly and never marked posted.
Tax the way your ERP already does it
Per-line tax codes, a header tax item, SuiteTax or legacy Avalara. usellit detects which and follows it rather than inventing a second answer.
Design the receipt once
Lay it out in the console and every terminal prints it block for block. Your logo, your footer, custom fields, a barcode, and a layout per paper size.
Printers, however the store is wired
Star roll printers, a letter printer for orders and quotes, the drawer on the tenders you ticked. No printer is a working store, not a broken one.
Clerks, PINs and take-over
A PIN signs a clerk in in about a second. One live session each, so taking over from another terminal signs the first one out.
Authority, with names on it
Who may void, discount or change a price is set per clerk and checked on the server. Every sensitive action lands against a named person.
Shifts and what the drawer did
Every drawer opened, counted and closed, with the movements under it and the variance in the open.
